It's been caaarazy!! around here the last few weeks and I love it! Even though I whine about it, I would so much rather be busy than bored. We got to go to a Halloween party this weekend, I was Little Bo Peep, (I almost typed poop!) the girls were sheep, and Jake was a black sheep, obviously. : ) All I can say is I'm done with hot glue and cotton balls for a while...ugh.

Bridget is OBSESSED with this pumpkin. Seriously. She carries it around the house and even sleeps with it. She's quite strange, but we love her!

The other day my cousin Joslin and I decided it would be fun to make 6 loaves of bread and 5 dozen cookies while watching 4 kids under the age of 2....enough said. : )

Does anybody remember the look Bridget used to make at this age? The scowl? I'll have to find a picture, well this is the face Haddie makes...the "I'm constantly in shock that God sent me to this loud and obnoxious family."

My mom sent the girls another over the top Halloween package this year filled with outfits for the whole fam-damily, crafts, toys, candy, and stuff to make cupcakes. Needless to say, messes were made, batter was eaten, and lots of fun was had!

We got to go see my long lost friend Michelle and her two cute daughters. Bridget thought Bentley was the coolest and had lots of fun!

Last night Bridget really wanted to sleep in a tent, so Jake set up a tent in the living room and we set her up with her sleeping bag, pillow, blankie, lantern, and of course, a tv! Jake and I really wanted to get caught up on Psych so we figured we could turn on a more 2 year old appropriate movie in the tent. : ) She chose The Santa Clause 2 of all movies! Between her getting in and out of the tent and Hadley having her little issues, we still only got through one Psych episode but it was still a way fun night!

Two posts in like a week! I don't think I've ever done that before! : ) So today was a rainy day, which I love! But usually my motivation to get things done is lacking on these cloudy days, and it certainly was today! I did get up and go walking with my friend which we do everyday but after that...nothing!!! The girls and I pretty much watched movies all day. At one point Bridget was dressed and had cute hair but she decided to put on her princess costume from last year and take her hair out so she could dance. She likes to whip her hair around when music is on so usually her hair is ripped out by the end of the day. It's pretty funny : ) So here are the girls watching Nanny McPhee for the second time today, I'm an awesome mom huh? I guess once Bridget starts school this won't happen very often so maybe I should just enjoy it. I feel kinda guilty because Jake started his Master's program and so he has class until 7 tonight while we're at home drinking hot chocolate in our jammies!! haha oh well! Hopefully dinner will be made!

So how do you all do it? I take forever to blog so when I do I have like months worth of pictures and it takes me forever to upload them all! ugh! I need to take a lesson from my friends that update their blogs like every few days. Maybe I'll be better? but probably not. : ) And because I'm so wonderful at this whole blogging thing, and by wonderful I mean sucky, my pictures are going to be in an orderly, backwards, fashion, starting in September going back to July. So here goes....

This double jogger is my new pride and joy. You know on The Office when Michael is talking about his flat screen tv and he says, "I.love.this.tv."? Imagine me saying "I.love.this.double.jogger." just like that. I have been looking on KSL everyday trying to find a nice jogger in our price range for a few weeks now because I go out everyday and my Sit n' Stand stroller, even though I love it very much, just doesn't make these hills in my neighborhood any easier! So I saw this one the other day for $100 and I got the guy down to $80!! It's in great condition and awesome! I love it! And you know I must love it because I don't normally blog about stuff like this! : )

We grew a bunch of zucchini this year so I made some bread the other day with Bridget. And again because I'm so skilled, here is the after picture...

GO COUGS!

We blessed Hadley the end of August, we did it at our home on a Saturday so that more family could be here. It was very nice and I'm glad we were able to finally bless that poor girl after 4 months! ; )

We missed Curt, who was back in Japan, and Ashley, and Steph and their families but they live out of town

We also missed Mer, who couldn't miss school

We took Bridget to the Treehouse Museum, which is just like a children's museum. She had fun there but didn't stay at any one station very long so I spent most of the time running through the place trying to keep up!

We got to spend some time in colorful Colorado, my other love. I miss Colorado so much! I love Utah, but I really love CO! Here are some of the cousins playing, notice how Bridgey and Eder pants just didn't want to keep their clothes on

Our main reason for going to CO was so Jake could join my brothers, Dad, and my Uncle John on a bike packing trip on the Colorado Trail. They left Tuesday and got back Friday night and did about 60 miles. One night all the girls and Grandma and Grandpa went up to cook them dinner, it was so fun so give them all hugs and they didn't even stink! They rinsed in a little water spout just for us. While they were gone, we had a super fun girls week complete with pedicures, shopping, hair appointments, chick flicks, and lots of yummy food!

Ya that's right, my g-pa texts! He and g-ma even have Facebooks! ; )

Earlier this summer we got to go to the Heber Valley Camp for Jake's mom's family reunion, it was way fun! Bridget had so much fun with all the cousins and it was nice to see everyone. We tried taking Hadley out on the lake but she wasn't diggin the life jacket so I went back on the shore. I obviously love my girls more than anything, but I am looking forward to the time when I get to participate in activities again and not just watch them!!! In like 2o years! : ) Any of you moms feel the same way??

So that's what we've been up to. Hopefully I'll get on the ball and post more often, but we'll see.

We've been able to do lots of fun things the past few weeks! Jake and the girls got to come to our mutual activity Tuesday night which was going to the Raptors baseball game. Bridget was cheering, clapping, and really getting in to it! Even though you can't tell from this picture :)

Sunday we took Bridget to the park to get some energy out after a

late nap...darn that 1:00 church!

Last weekend Jake surprised me with a trip to Park City! We stayed at the Westgate Resort

and had a great time! Our friends Brian and Amber came with us and brought their twins, Austin and Brighton...we love them! Friday night we swam, ate pizza, and played Just Dance on the Wii. They had to leave that night so the next day Jake, the girls and I hit the outlets for some shopping! Whoo hoo! At 2 years old, Bridget is way too experienced at shopping!

Our great friends Curt and Allison were in town from Switzerland so Jake and Bridget got to go spend a few hours with them. I was super bummed I couldn't go because I had a bad cold. They are expecting a little girl here soon!

Well, it's taken 2 weeks to get over my mom guilt and sit down to put some pictures up on the computer! I keep feeling like if I turn my back on the girls for a second they'll grow up and I'll miss it! Thanks a lot crazy post baby hormones! So here are some pictures of our little Hadley Grace. She was born May 4th at 11:30 pm. She weighed 7lbs. 8 oz. (which was the perfect size considering Bridget was 8 lbs. 12 oz) and 19 1/2 in long. I was supposed to get induced that morning at 9 but due to the fact that there were so many other women actually in labor, I didn't get started until 6 that night. It was a long day driving back and forth to the hospital wondering if it was my turn but Jake and I had fun shopping and then we got to get my mom from the airport. Jake's parents had Bridget all day which was a relief. So around 6 they got me all hooked up and eventually started me on the dreaded pitocin! I was going back and forth about getting an epidural, I made it a couple hours and then threw in the towel! After I got the epidural the nurse came in and said I was to a 9...maybe I should have waited just a little longer and I could have joined the ranks with my mom, sister-in-law, and cousin who have passed up the epidurals. ; ) Oh well! So by around 11 I was ready to start pushing and then there she was! It was so easy compared to Bridget's delivery and I was so grateful! She is just beautiful and such a good baby. She hardly cries (knock on wood) and does everything a baby should do. : ) Bridget is such a good big sister and the first thing she says when she wakes up is, "Where's baby?" Having 2 kids is certainly an adjustment (especially now that my mom is gone and I actually have to act like a parent) but we're doing good and so grateful for these little blessings!

I figured I should probably get one more post done before my life gets even busier! We've had lots of fun the past few weeks with both our families in town, birthdays, and Easter. We're sure excited for the next few weeks and just so grateful for all our blessings!

In these pictures we're trying to get Bridget to cooperate by

hiding candy in random places around the yard. This girl is motivated

by sugar, much like her mom!

Jake's grandparents own a lot of land out in Goshen with horses

and cows. It's so fun! Every year they have a big Easter egg hunt

and treasure hunt with all the cousins. Bridget had a blast and so did we

even though it was cold and rainy!

My cousin Joslin got Bridget a cute little Tea Set for her

birthday so we tried it out. I poured her a nice little

cup of tea and she picked it up and poured it all over

the plate.

Random Phone Pictures

I realized it's been a while since I posted so I thought I'd just put up some pictures from my phone. We're trying to stay busy, but this weather makes it difficult to want to go anywhere. I have spring fever for sure! All this snow has taught Bridget to be quite the shoveler though, I really wasn't taking her outside with the intent of child labor, we were going to drive around her princess car, but she's just such a big helper she wanted to shovel snow! : )

Jake was helping Bridget shave to get ready for church, we're so glad she's in to grooming!
Poor Bridge has been breaking out in chronic hives every few weeks for the last few months so her doctor sent us to an allergy specialist. They did a scratch test on her back to rule out some common allergies. First they marked all over her back and then put little drops on each dot, then they poked and scratched every single mark. It was really sad but she was a trooper! We're still not sure what's causing the hives but we consider this a good problem and we're grateful that we've never had to deal with anything really serious like so many other people we know.

Bridget and I got to go to Colorado a couple of weeks ago and take it easy with my family. We were sad to leave Jake but we still had fun. ; ) We went to Costco with my mom and Bridget does not like to sit in a shopping cart for longer than, oh, a minute! So we buried her in 15 lbs. of produce, gave her some samples, and that was that!

So once again my pictures are backwards, maybe someday I'll figure out how to upload them the right way! So here's just a few more pictures of our fun Halloween in addition to the creepy old man pictures of Jake. : ) We had fun carving pumpkins and making caramel apples which turned out to be so hard they pretty much break your teeth. We also got to spend Saturday with my cousins Joslin and Dusty and little Eder pants, and their brother and sister-in-law and their daughter. It was a really good day despite the nasty rain and cold! First we went to Gardener Village and saw all the decorations and witches. Then we went trick-or-treating at Jordan Landing to some of the little stores. Then we went back to Joslin's house and made some yummy dinner. We contributed the breadstick bones and monster toes, which were so nasty looking I really had trouble eating them! Later that night Joslin, Kerrisa, and I took all our girls trick-or-treating in the freezing cold while our husbands enjoyed watching football in the nice warm house. ; ) They would have come if we made them but we were feeling nice. We had a really good time and appreciate Joslin and Dusty letting us come over!

The Curious Case of....Jake Sorensen?

So for some reason I really procrastinated Halloween this year. Even though I was so excited and I love Halloween, I guess I just figured that our costumes would magically appear! So the day before our ward party I ran around trying to find Bridget a costume and luckily Old Navy had a super cute Princess costume which was perfect because she's our little princess! I just had to add a few touches and then it worked great! So then an hour before the party I realized Jake and I didn't know what we were going to be. So at the last minute we decided to be old people and I'm pretty sure Jake had way too much fun with it. He went in to the bathroom looking 26 and 20 minutes later walked out looking 62! Actually older I think! It was so funny! People at church seriously did not know who he was. We had fun with it and I would be ok if he looked like this when he really is old! ; )

Our CrAzY Summer!

Hello Everyone! I haven't blogged in forever and I'm sure you were all just dying to know what has been going on in my life right? ; ) Anyway, we had a really fun summer and boy was it crazy! Jake got hired as a full time seminary teacher at Syracuse High School so we moved in to his parent's house while they are still living in Japan. We are still getting unpacked and adjusting but we really appreciate having free rent and tons of room! Thanks Curt and Colleen! So I took tons of pictures of our summer but of course I'm having technical difficulties and can't get them off my camera so I had to steal these pictures from Ethan and my sister-in-law Ashley. Hopefully I can get the rest off my camera soon! So here are just a few fun things we did this summer!

I'm sure I forgot stuff but it was a busy summer! And it was so fun!

Here are some pictures from the Park City Half Marathon we ran with Jake's family. It was actually really fun and so rewarding. We left at 4:30 that morning with our kids and headed to Park City in the freezing cold morning air. We were so lucky to have had 2 of Jake's very responsible cousins there to watch the 3 kids while we ran.

The week before the half marathon we got to go to Mexico with my family and it was so fun! We stayed at a timeshare on a resort and had a blast! We stayed about a minute away from the beach and it was beautiful. We got to snorkel, which was a first for me, we visited Tulum on the LDS Tour, swam and swam and swam, and went to Cozumel. Did I mention how fun it was!? Because it was so fun! Thanks mom and dad!

We're still having computer problems but my cousin Joslin sent me this picture...last week Jake and I had to go to a meeting for his new job that started at 7 in the morning and went until 7 at night. So my WONDERFUL cousins Joslin and Dusty let us spend the night so we didn't have to get up even earlier and then Jos watched Bridget the entire day! She already has a baby of her own so I can only imagine what her day was like with Bridget walking all over the place. She took them both for a walk and crammed them both in the stroller...so cute. Bridget loves Eden and I hope they grow up to be best friends just like all me and my cousins. Thanks for watching her Jos, you're the best!

So I finally had a few minutes to blog today and of course, Jake's laptop died, and by that I mean shut off and when I plugged in the charger the computer had smoke coming out...not a good sign, my laptop's memory card reader stopped working so I couldn't download pictures, and the internet went out which luckily, is now working. All in all, there may not be any posts with pictures for a while. But I did find this lovely picture, Bennett on his 20th birthday. Today he is 21 and officially an adult and will be home from his mission next Friday! Yes, next Friday! I couldn't be more excited or more proud of him. We've had an exciting past few weeks! Jake turned 26, Bridget turned 1, and.....Jake got hired as a full-time seminary teacher! He's worked so hard the past year and a half and I'm so proud of him! Good job Jake! We don't know where we are moving to yet but we'll be sure and let you all know!

Spring Break

Last week was Jake's Spring Break so we headed up to Smithfield, UT to visit my cousins Candace and Kevin and their 2 girls. It was a lot of fun! We always have a great time with those guys and we're glad we finally got to go stay with them. While we were there we got to go the the American West Heritage Center to see Baby Animal Days. They had baby ducks, goats, cows, horses, pigs, chickens, bunnies, and even bears. I didn't know how much interest Bridget would have in the animals but she seemed to really enjoy them and so did we! We really had a great time being out in the warm(ish) weather with family and cute baby animals. Here's some pictures from our trip.

Easter Time!

Easter was really fun this year...my family came out to spend it with my Dad's side of the family. Wednesday night my parents came and spent the night at our apartment and we watched our favorite tv show LOST for 2 days straight it seemed like. It was so fun! Then Friday night my family watched Bridget while Jake and I went and stayed at the Hyatt Hotel in Salt Lake for our 2 year Anniversary. It was so nice to get away..thanks fam! Saturday Jake, Ethan, and Mer and I got to go to General Conference. That night my dad's family came over and we had pizza and dessert, then later on my family dyed easter eggs. Sunday we got up and watched Conference and then had our traditional Easter Egg Hunt! My parents are so good about keeping up tradition even though we're all growing up and I really appreciate it more and more. I'm excited to do all the fun things with our kids that Jake and I got to do growing up. After the second session we went to my Aunt Sherri and Uncle Dave's for dinner and it was very yummy! Sorry for all the details but it was such a fun few days and I don't want to forget it!

It was my first Christmas away from home and Jake's family made it very special and we had a great time. Thanks Curt and Colleen for such a fun and memorable Christmas!

So here's my excuse for being a week late on these pictures...the flu attacked us! Jake and I both got the flu and Bridget had to get shots and her first 2 teeth finally popped up! I was trying to be funny. ; )) But we're all getting better and looking forward to a new week. Anyway...Halloween was lots of fun! We hung out with some friends and ate some yummy food! Thanks Travis and Rachel! Bridget was Tinkerbell and it was my first year to try my hand at a homemade costume. My mom is the best at this...and I am not! She's very good at sewing and very creative, but after being in Interior Design school for these past few years, I have gotten pretty good with a hot glue gun! So blogging has gotten much more difficult now that Bridget is very mobile! When she wants to she'll crawl and other times she scoots. Right now she is sitting on my feet eating them and whining. She really doesn't like it when I do anything not involving her..little does she know that right now it's still all about her! Even though life is crazy having a baby, it's more fun than I ever imagined. It's so neat to see her learn and grow. I'm so grateful for my family and the chance I have to be a mom! Well, right now I'm smelling something not too pleasant so I guess it's time to go change a diaper!

A Few Fun Days!

We've had a fun week so far despite the fact that Bridget has her first cold. Of course Jake and I are freaking out over a silly stuffy nose and a fever but what can ya do, we're new at this. We thought she might be teething but this is for sure a cold..poor girl. Monday, my friend Michelle came over and brought her daughter Bentley to play with Bridget. (Michelle I'm so sorry if Bentley gets sick!) It was fun to watch the girls because they actually acknowledged each other and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Their clothes even matched! Then Tuesday we got to go to the zoo with our friend Lois. It got pretty stormy but we had a good time.

Here's a little video of Jake and Bridgee playing...clearly he is more fun than me because he can always get her to laugh and I only have gotten a "half laugh" out of her. I was pretty suprised at how happy she was though because she got her 4 month shots today. So sad! She did great though, weighing in at 15.9 lbs! We love our little chunk! So enjoy the movie and ignore me talking on the phone in the background!

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted a blog! We've been quite busy! We moved to Orem into a bigger apartment, thank goodness, I went home to Colorado for 2 weeks, got sick, my little brother and sister came for a week while Jake went backpacking, and now finally I have some time to unpack and blog of course! Colorado was a blast..we even had a little tornado while I was there! Our new apartment is so fun, Bridget has her own room even though she doesn't sleep in there. I'm having a hard time letting her be so far away..across the hall! We even have a pool here! We're so grateful for all the space.

Jake just started his student seminary teaching at American Fork High School and he is loving it. He says he has great students and he's learning alot. I'm so proud of him and excited to see what happens with all this!

An Eventful Weekend

This past weekend was so much fun! My family came out and took Jake, Bridget, and I to Stadium of Fire and then Sunday we had Bridgee's baby blessing. Stadium of Fire was so fun, we were worried about how Bridget would handle all the noise but she did great! We just took turns holding a blanket over her ears and she didn't seem to be bothered at all. And I have to admit, the Jonas Brothers were awesome! ; ) It was so fun to see my little sister's reaction when they walked out on stage. It was even more fun to see my mom dancing and singing all the songs. I'm pretty sure my dad, Ethan, and Jake had a good time too! My parents got our family a hotel for after so we all went back and crashed! Jake has been working crazy hours between his 3 jobs so he was especially tired! The next day was the blessing and we had to have it after church because our family is SO big! It was so neat to see so many people that we love come to see our little Bridgee get blessed. It was a beautiful blessing and luckily Jake's Grandma Sorensen wrote it down for us, thanks Grandma! And thanks to everyone else who helped with the blessing!(Mom and Dad ;)

Here's a random little story..Saturday morning I was laying

in bed with Bridget and the window was open and I heard this

really wierd swooshing sound. We were trying to sleep so I got up

to shut the window and when I layed back down Bridget's face

looked yellow! I was so confused! I looked out the window and

saw a giant hot air balloon a few yards away from my apartment.

It was so crazy! I thought it was just the most random thing.

I only wish she really knew how to hold her bottle!

In all of yesterday's events, I totally forgot to give Bridget's "stats!" The little chunk weighs 12.2 lbs. which is in the 80 percentile, and she is 24 inches long which is in the 97 percentile! My parents said I was the exact same way when I was a baby. Bridget is smiling so much and making little giggle sounds, it's so cute! Jake and I are pretty sure she's going to roll over very soon. She makes it half way over and then her arm gets in the way. We're having so much fun being parents and we're so grateful for her!

A Series of Unfortunate Events (and one fortunate)

We'll begin with the good, on Sunday my grandparents braved the rainy, wet freeway just to visit us. It was really fun and so good to see them. Now for the not so good, today Bridgee had to get shots! All morning I was so nervous and trying not to cry because I had to go without Jake and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle her being in pain. So I was getting ready to leave when I get a text from Jake saying he had just fainted at work. Wonderful! He had been going on no sleep, no food, and no water which resulted in passing out. I was now even more of a wreck. I called my dad so he could help calm me down and then headed to the doctor's office. Much to my surprise, Bridgee did very well! She hardly cried at all! So as soon as we got home I got some Tylenol in her and lots of sleep, water, and food for Jake and now my sick little family seems to be doing better!

We've had a fun past few days with Jake's work schedule not being so crazy so we've taken advantage of this great weather. We've been to the park, the pool, Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen's, and just had lots of fun!

Today was a really fun day...we went to the park and had hamburgers with our best friends Mike and Lisa and their baby Carter. It was good weather and luckily the babies behaved! I caught Bridget smiling on camera finally, the pictures are pretty dark but you get the idea!

I feel sort of guilty right now because I'm watching t.v. and blogging while Jake is pacing around the bedroom trying to put our crying baby to sleep! I promise I offered to do it, but he prides himself in being able to get her to bed at night. Usually when I put her to bed she wakes up 20 minutes later, but when Jake puts her to bed, she stays asleep! Not fair! But there's nothing cuter than a hot daddy with his baby girl so I don't mind! ; ) Anyway, here's some more pictures of Bridget, sorry if people are getting sick of them but my world revolves around her now!

So tonight is the night before I get induced and soon we'll be a family of 3! I can't believe it! Jake and I are so excited and so glad to be done waiting. It's an interesting feeling knowing that there were a lot of "last times" for us today...and tomorrow will be filled with so many firsts! Babies are such a miracle and we're so grateful for this blessing in our lives. Today was a fun day because we were able to get some things done before tomorrow and tonight we dyed easter eggs. Jake was a good sport and just went along with my need for holiday tradition. I'm excited to have a little girl to dye easter eggs with next year!

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

So I'm officially overdue! I really didn't think I would have to wait this long. I'm only a few days overdue but when you've waited 9 months already, everyday feels like an eternity. I have tried everything to get her here! I even drank castor oil! I'm so desperate! It was disgusting but I just had to try it. Even though Jake and I are so excited for her to be here, we keep reminding ourselves that it's in the Lord's hands and if she's not ready, she's not ready. I was supposed to have a doctor's appointment today to talk about getting induced and they called 15 minutes before and had to reschedule. I was dissappointed but luckily I get to go in tomorrow. We'll see what he says!!

So I had no idea how addicting blogging would be! I just started today and already most of my time has been consumed by stalking all you people! I guess with no school and no work, I really have nothing better to do. I'm getting pretty bored just waiting around for this darn little girl to be born. For those of you who don't know, we've decided to name her Bridgette. But now we can't decide if we want to spell it Bridgette or Bridget. I guess we'll see what we decide in a few days!!
